I hope you all had a lovely long weekend! We have come back this week with a focus on subtraction, throwing and catching and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We have read the story and already started on ball control and subtraction. You can help at home by practising counting back from a given number. This gives then the skill of mental subtraction.
Monday 24th April
Today the children did observational drawings of daffodils. They were asked to draw what they could see, not what they thought they could see. This was quite tricky, but they all managed to draw wonderful daffodils which were then coloured in. Some of them even used 2 shades of the same colour to in their drawings. Well done.

I’m sure this is the start of a very exciting term!

This week we have used numicon to make bonds to 10, had porridge oats in the water tray to find matching eggs, had broccoli in the play dough to act as trees for the animals and made Noah’s ark outside. This week in maths we have been making pictograms and answering questions such as which is the most/least popular we have also been estimating how many Easter eggs are in the basket.
Next week our Easter bonnet parade is on Tuesday at 10:15. I hope to see many of you there.

Consequently we wrote a letter to the zoo keeper to ask him if the tiger could back next week to our tea party where we would feed him a balanced meal and teach him table manners.
On Friday next week, we will be having our tea party, please see the weekly newsletter for more information and if you have any queries regarding the food feel free to ask!

Today is Golden Time!!!! This is always a fun part of the week, especially when it’s own toys. Next week we will also have own toys! Please can the children only bring in one toy, as you can imagine with a class full of children it can be hard to store them all.

The forest was damp, the river was warm and the grass was long and green. After spending the day rewriting the story we then acted out our story in the play garden, and you will never guess what happened…… we found our bear!
